Traditionally defined as being those born without male or female sex organs, Hijras have been cast out from normal Indian society and survive on the fringes, making money through begging, prostitution or street entertainment. India is thought to have anywhere between 500,000 to 1.2 million Hijras. This documentary follows a group of Hijras, including those who were born hermaphrodites and those who were born men and have since been castrated.
