Summary: Lost in a reverie, a man reels with sudden, piercing awareness of his own state of being. He ponders the world in which he lives, contemplating everything from atoms and the evolution of life to the mysteries of memory and death. Bounded by a walled enclosure, he searches in vain for the key to the great beyond. Here and the Great Elsewhere is an abstract yet compelling philosophical tale that uses the Alexeïeff-Parker pinscreen as a metaphor for the particles that make up the universe.
